Donovan Yazzie
Donovan Yazzie is a Santa Fe artist but is from the Navajo Nation in Arizona. He is the youngest of twelve children who grew up in a family of strong Navajo traditional ways. His father was a well respected traditional Navajo medicine man. Donovan grew up spiritually grounded and cared for livestock, animals and crops. His artwork reflects those sacred elements and has been shown in SWAIA shows in Santa Fe, The Autry Museum and the Heard Museum.

Donovan has been exhibiting his artwork for Indian Market since 1980 and enjoys seeing other exhibitions from relatives and friends as well. His sculptures are made of stainless steel and his passion in what he creates shines through his sculptures and paintings. He says that “Stainless steel flows really nicely and it’s easy to work with. At the same time it’s tedious and you have to be patient with it.”
