Behnaz Ahmadian
Behnaz Ahmadian is an accomplished artist and art instructor born in Iran, raised in the United States, and currently living and working amid the landscapes of Colorado. Growing up in a family of creatives, art and imagination were central pillars of her childhood. While she initially followed an analytical path—obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Biology with aspirations for medicine—her foundational love for art and aesthetic arrangement ultimately guided her into a successful career in interior design.
While practicing as an interior designer, Behnaz felt a profound calling to dedicate herself to painting full-time. Today, her experience as a designer deeply informs her fine art practice. Working across diverse mediums, primarily in acrylics, she is captivated by the language of pattern and color. Her original pieces are celebrated for their intricate detailing, striking rhythmic structures, and vibrant palettes, creating sensory dimensions that speak directly to the viewer.
Her greatest creative inspiration remains her late mother, a former fashion designer who introduced Behnaz to the world of expressive drawing, textiles, and design. Each piece Behnaz paints acts as a personal journey, reconnecting her to those childhood moments at her mother’s side. Through her canvas, she seeks to honor her mother’s legacy, channeling the deep feelings of love, joy, and meaningful narrative that her mother nurtured in her as a woman, artist, and designer.
